Uganda currently accounts for around 1% of the UK's coffee consumption and even less in the US, despite being the 8th largest coffee producer.

Which we think is MAD!... given it grows some of the most delicious and sustainable, community-based coffees on the planet!

So our mission is to change this through coffee that Makes A Difference and by taking a community-based approach ourselves.

Sustainable Community Development

Ugandan society is deeply communal and for many, life is organised around community activities such as sustenance farming and local decision-making.

These communities still face challenges that impact collective wellbeing, such as poverty, limited access to essentials, gender inequality and environmental degradation.

Thats why we've partnered with The Foundation for Sustainable Community-based Development (FSD Jinja, Uganda) and contribute 10% of profits from our Ugandan coffee, to support their work, so you can Make A Difference with each morning brew!

Our MAD! Coffee Community can enjoy a more meaningful coffee, as we bring you closer to the wonderful stories behind the beans and the incredible work done by the FSD, Jinja, Uganda.

But the community doesn't stop there... you can also do something different" and get involved through virtual participation and interactive work, on projects such as Female Empowerment, VSLA & Micro-Enterprise, and Youth Development.

    Empowering vulnerable women in the rural communities to make a living, through training and mentoring focused around basic entrepreneurship and small-scale business skills.

  • VSLA & Micro-Enterprise

    Enabling community uplift within the coffee growing areas by helping them save money and diversify revenue streams, through micro-finance training and VSLA creation.

  • Youth Development

    Empowering, educating and protecting the youth within under-served communities through skill-building and awareness initiatives, aimed at health, agriculture and ICT.
